Washington, DC Events

Union Market Drive In
1309 5th Street NE
Time: Friday, 7:30pm
Union Market previously hosted Washington DC’s first drive-in movie experience this summer. Films tied to a particular theme will be shown on Union Market’s 3-story wall as part of our Encore Series this fall. A variety of Union Market vendors will also participate, serving food, drinks and fun snacks. Stop by for the last movie this Fall showing “Bridesmaids” this Friday!

Fall Fringe Festival
Capital Fringe

Didn’t get enough of the Capital Fringe Festival this summer? The annual performing arts event in Washington, DC introduces risk-taking art and non-traditional performances including theater, dance, music, poetry, puppetry and more. Select favorite former performances will be repeated in Fall Fringe (plus a few brand new shows).

The District Flea

Expect 70-80 vendors of everything from vintage eyeglass frames to antique furniture and vintage clothing at this big, new flea market on a 37,000 square foot lot in Shaw, created by the producers of New York’s famous Brooklyn Flea.

FotoWeek DC
Time: Now-Sunday
FotoWeek DC, the annual celebration of photography in Washington, DC features programs including a photo contest and juried exhibition, gallery openings, lectures, educational workshops, portfolio reviews, book signings and more. Please visit the website for times, locations and pricing.

DC Beerathon
Time: Saturday, check in between noon & 3pm
Price: $65
dc beerathonThe original idea behind the Beerathon was to create a marathon event for those of us whose enthusiasm for running includes making a beer-run. So, come participate, rock out all day with beers, great food, bands, djs, and the most fun you can have legally. The course is designed by a certified Beerathon Course map Veteran, having extensive experience planning prior successful Beerathons to include only the most fun venues. It includes 26 leading bars and restaurants and is designed to give you a chance to visit old standbys while checking out some newer venues. Once you pick up your laminated ticket at one of the check-in locations, you are free to go in any direction and order you choose!

Alexandria Film Festival

The Alexandria Film Festival showcases high-quality films during a celebration of new and established filmmakers and their new or rare films. Bringing 60 new and rare feature-length films, documentaries, animation, and shorts, the Alexandria Film Festival also includes filmmaker panels and arts presentations to unique and historic venues. Manassas Veterans Day Parade
Time: Saturday, 11 am
The community parade includes military and high school bands, pipe and drum corps teams, Military Units from the various Armed Services, Military vehicles, and members from local Veteran organizations. Please visit website for parade routes.

Northern Virginia Christmas Market

This arts and crafts market features Christmas collectibles and thousands of home decorating ideas for the holidays.

LynyrdSkynyrd_AFFAmerican Freedom Festival
Patriot Center at George Mason University

Legendary rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd performs a tribute concert that honors our Veterans and Armed Forces while benefiting various organizations that serve and support our Veterans, Active Duty Military Service Members, Wounded Warriors and their families throughout the country.

Maryland Irish Festival

This celebration of Irish culture features local, regional, and international Irish music and dance; traditional cuisine; cultural exhibits and workshops; and a variety of Irish vendors. Veterans Day Weekend Celebration
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum

Price: Free
As a salute to Veterans, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum will display items from World War II and from various branches of the military. Veterans with proof of military service will receive free admission over the weekend.
