Spring Fling: Fitness Spark

Spring has sprung and summer is finally around the corner! That means it’s time for bathing suits, shorts and tank tops, hanging out by a pool and/or the beach, and BBQs!

Summer is our favorite season but just like us, you may not feel or look your best. So what does that mean for those of us that would like to get rid of that extra weight?

Did you know

We recommend getting to the gym at least 5 days a week. And keep your body guessing when you are there. Meaning try different cardio machines and routines.

When you are at the gym you need to concentrate on keeping your heart rate up and really working up a sweat.

Remember, sweat is your fat crying!

If you are like many people out there, perhaps you don’t like working out on the cardio machine. That’s ok – there are still plenty of workouts that you can do to keep your heart rate up.

Since we are entering“crunch time” we recommend HIIT workouts.

HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training

New to HIIT? Start off slowly. Here is a great beginners HITT workout to follow:

No matter how much you work out, remember the key to successfully losing weight is really your diet. Stay tuned for some excellent healthy recipes later this week!

But for now, here is a good food pyramid to hang on your refrigerator door:
