West Potomac Park, Washington DC
Time: Sunday, 7am
The 9th Annual Nation’s Triathlon to Benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society features a scenic course that winds through the National Mall, a 1.5k swim in the Potomac River, 40k bike course through the streets of DC and Maryland, finishing with a 10k run past the city’s historical landmark. All participants will receive a finisher’s medal, technical t-shirt, red carpet finish, post-race breakfast and access to the finish line concert and beer garden.
Atlas Brew Works: World Fair Anniversary Party
Atlas Brew Works, Washington DC
Time: Saturday, 1pm-5pm
On Atlas Brewery will open the doors, take over the streets and throw one spectacular event. Atlas will be pouring their best brews, DC’s favorite food trucks will be serving up their specialties and enjoy live music from Bumper Jacksons, Unstable Heights and Sunwolf. Ticket includes admission to the fest, your first beer AND a donation to Washington Humane Society. Party like an animal and help one too!
DC MEET Market

DC MEET Market is an outdoor market in Logan Circle that is held on the first Saturday of every month beginning in April through November. This month’s market celebrates back-to-school month with a jam-packed event including a pop-up library from, a live art installation, and DIY craft activities, and live music. In addition, the market will showcase over 40 local vendors selling their goods from home décor, handcrafted jewelry, accessories, and prepared foods!
Maryland Renaissance Festival

Movies are projected on the outside of the Ciao Bella Restaurant, and movie-goers can enjoy free popcorn. Live music and dancing begins at 7 p.m., while screenings start at 8:30 p.m. or 9 p.m., depending on the length of the film. This Friday’s movie is Cinema Paradiso.

The 47th Annual Maryland Seafood Festival is filled with a variety of delicious seafood, exciting and new demonstrations and competitions, toe tapping musical entertainment, kids’ activities, loads of shopping options, vendors, exhibits, contests and more! (No on-site parking available without a pre-purchased parking permit. Only those with pre-purchased permit will be allowed to park at Sandy Point. Permits can be purchased on our website for $12 per car.Parking also available at Anne Arundel Community College for $5).

The Prince George’s County Fair began in 1842 as a friendly gathering for local farmers to showcase their produce and livestock and have a little fun. Today, the event includes women’s arts as well as, competitions for the best jams, jellies, canned goods, pies, breads, cookies, clothing, quilts, and handicrafts. Other activities include games, carnival rides, music, food and much more!
First Sunday Arts Festival

The Reisterstown Festival begins with a parade down Main Street featuring marching bands, vintage cars, community groups and more. Rosslyn Jazz Festival
Gateway Park, Arlington VA
Time: Saturday, 1pm-7pm
The Rosslyn Jazz Festival is a free, annual music sponsored by the Rosslyn Renaissance, the Rosslyn BID, and Arlington Cultural Affairs. The afternoon line-up will include performances by Corey Wallace DUBtet, Ghost Train Orchestra, Red Baraat, and Rebirth Grass Band. The park will have a variety of local food trucks and fashion trucks available for attendees. Bring blankets and chairs so you can enjoy the festival all day long!
Patriot Center, Fairfax VA

The DC Brawlers is Washington DC’s official team of the National Professional Grid League. The team features both male and female athletes who will compete in 11 functional/competitive fitness races. The two-hour match features two 8-person teams (4 men, 4 women) going head to head in a physically intense series of races. The Brawlers’ team claims some of the top names in the sport as well as emerging athletes. NPGL races are easy to follow and are played with pre-set, flexible rules designed to force teams to strategize.
National Capital Cat Show
Dulles Expo & Conference Center, Chantilly VA

National Capital Cat Showisone of the largest CFA Cat Shows in the United States. The two day event will have as many as 450 cats and kittens from around the world. Vendors galore offer cat products, jewelry, food, and artwork. Attendees can learn about cats and cat shows, enjoy special presentations, adopt a cat or kitten, teach their cats how to do tricks or take a run on the agility course, and more.
