August marks the beginning of a new school year. And back to school time means shopping for new school supplies; but for some families, school supplies just don’t fit into their budget.
Statistics show that nearly 1.3 million homeless children attend public schools every year and nearly 34,000 of these children live in Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia.
This year, Charm City Concierge wanted to help those kids in need in the greater DMV area get ready for school!
Our Maryland team partnered with BOMA Baltimore again this year to benefit Squashwise, St. Elizabeth School, Hamilton Elementary School, Sarah’s House, Salvation Army and Hope Forward.
Our DC and Virginia Teams partnered with Volunteers of America to benefit Operation Back pack for another year.
The drive ran from July 27th – August 7th and donated items included backpacks, binders, paper, pencils cases, pencils, erasers, scissors, crayons, lunch boxes, rulers, pens, glue sticks, markers, notebook dividers, tissues and so much more!
We had a great response and want to thank everyone who donated school supplies to this great cause! With these supplies, kids will have an even greater chance for success in this upcoming school year. Together, we can make a difference.
We thank you for your continued support and generosity.
Please consider participating in our next drive this October when we collect Halloween candy for Treats-4-Troops!
