Hope for the Holidays

The holidays are a very busy time. Everyone is bustling around decorating their homes, buying the perfect gifts, picking out trees, and trying to find a festive outfit to wear to their 6th holiday party. Maybe some of you are just hoping your jeans will zip after eating your 12th, and definitely last, sugar cookie of the day.

But while this time of year is a time of celebration for most, not all around us are as fortunate. In all the hustle & bustle it is easy to overlook those who may not be able to have such a festive season.

At Charm City Concierge, we believe that every child deserves a chance to make the Naughty or Nice List, so this year we paired up with A Wider Circle to provide “Hope for the Holidays” by helping to stock their North Pole. Thanks to our generous clients, there were a few more wide-eyed youngsters on Christmas morning!

From December 1st to December 15th our concierges all over the DMV had toy collection boxes out in their lobbies. We had a wonderful response, and promptly shipped our donations up to A Wider Circle’s mini “North Pole,” where we left the rest up to Santa himself!

A Wider Circle isn’t just for help around the holidays! This amazing organization is on a mission, “to end poverty for one individual and family after another”. They were founded in 2001 in the Washington, D.C. area and base their work on serving “the whole person”, not just their tangible needs. They believe that by “widening our circles of compassion” and understanding just how interconnected we all are, we can work to end poverty together.

With the New Year will come new opportunities to give back to your community! Stay informed on our latest community outreach efforts by following Charm City Concierge on social media, visiting our website, or asking your concierge.
